Approval workflows

Route work for sign-off before it moves forward.

An approval workflow uses an automation to send something — a purchase request, a sermon, or a project step — to the right person for sign-off before it continues. It's how you keep a human decision in the loop without chasing people manually.

How approvals work

When an approval is requested, the item pauses and the chosen approver is notified. Nothing moves forward until they decide. Once they approve or reject, the requester is notified and the workflow continues.

Set up an approval

Open Automations and create a rule whose action is Request an approval.

Choose what triggers it — for example, a purchase request being submitted.

Choose who approves, and save.

Approving and rejecting

The approver gets a notification with everything they need to decide. They approve or reject in place, and the outcome flows back to the requester automatically.

Approvals are most common on purchase requests, but you can route anything that benefits from a second set of eyes before it proceeds.
