My growth
Set personal growth goals and post a weekly check-in so your manager can see how you're doing and where you're stuck.
My growth is your personal development space inside Cadence. It's separate from the organization's quarterly Goals — this is where you track the things you're working on for your own growth, and where you post a weekly update so your manager stays in the loop.

Personal growth goals
A personal growth goal is something you're working toward as an individual — a skill you're building, a habit you're developing, or a stretch target you've set for yourself. Unlike org-level Goals, these are private to you and your manager.
Create a growth goal
Give it a title (required), a why (what you're hoping to gain), and optionally a period — a freeform label like "Q3 2026" or "This year" to keep it time-bounded.
Goal statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | Currently working toward this goal |
| Achieved | You hit it — marked done |
| Archived | No longer relevant; hidden from the default view |
Change the status at any time using the dropdown on the goal card.
Post a check-in on a goal
Each growth goal has a Check in button. Use it to write a short update on where you are with that specific goal — what's moving, what's hard, what you've learned.
Check-ins build a history against the goal, giving you and your manager a record of the journey over time.
Weekly check-in
The weekly check-in is a brief structured update you send to your manager each week — not about a specific goal, but about your work overall. It covers three questions:
- Done — what did you complete or make progress on this week?
- Next — what are you focused on next week?
- Blocked — is anything in your way?
You also pick a health for the week: On track, At risk, or Behind.
Submit your weekly check-in
Open People → My growth. Your check-in for the current week appears at the top.
Cadence also rolls up your completed tasks and any goal updates you posted during the week alongside your check-in, so the full picture is visible without extra work on your part.
The weekly check-in resets each week. If you miss a week, the previous check-in stays on record but a new blank form appears for the current week.
Seeing your team's check-ins
If you manage direct reports, a Team check-ins card appears on your My growth page showing this week's submissions from your team. Each card shows the person's name and their Done, Next, and Blocked answers — giving you a quick pulse on the team before 1:1s or a standup.
The card only appears when at least one person you oversee has submitted a check-in this week. If no one has checked in yet, the card is hidden to keep the page clean.
