Org structure

Map your reporting relationships, assign campus leaders, and see how 1:1 pairings are generated from your org chart.

Org structure is the admin tool that defines who reports to whom across your organization. It powers the 1:1 pairing rules — Cadence reads the reporting relationships you set here to automatically pair each person with their manager for 1:1 meetings.

Editing org structure requires Admin access. All members can view the structure chart in read-only mode.

Open PeopleOrg structure to see your organization mapped by campus. Each person appears with their reporting relationship shown. If you manage multiple campuses, each campus is listed separately with its people and leadership assignments.

Campus leaders

Each campus can have one or more leaders assigned with a designated role. Campus leaders get additional visibility into the people they oversee and their check-ins.

Assign a campus leader

Open PeopleOrg structure.
Find the campus you want to manage in the Campus leaders section.
Select the leader's role from the role dropdown.
Select the person from the people picker. They're added immediately.

Remove a campus leader

Click the × next to any leader's badge to remove their leadership assignment. This doesn't remove them from the organization — it just removes their campus leader role.

How 1:1 pairings work

The pairing count shown at the top of the Org structure page reflects the number of active 1:1 relationships Cadence has generated from your reporting structure. Each manager–report pair becomes a potential 1:1 meeting.

When you assign a manager to someone (via member details), that relationship shows up here and increments the pairing count. Cadence uses these pairings to route check-in visibility — managers see their direct reports' weekly check-ins, and the 1:1s list shows only the pairs you're responsible for.
