Tasks

See what's assigned to you, triage incoming work, and save the views you use most.

Tasks are the individual to-dos that move work forward — tied to a project, a sermon, or a venue, and assigned to a person. Cadence gives you a few ways to look at them, depending on whether you're focused on your work or the whole organization's.

The three task views

  • My tasks is your personal inbox of assigned work — and, if you're a preacher, the sermons assigned to you.
  • Triage is the pool of unassigned tasks that need an owner.
  • The full tasks list shows everything across the organization, which you can filter and save.

Org-wide tasks, triage, and saved views are part of project management for church organizations. Other organizations get a standalone My tasks list.

Filter and save your view

On the full task list you can filter by status, priority, project, assignee, and venue. When you land on a filter you use often, save it as a favorite so it's one click away from the sidebar.

Open the full Tasks list.
Apply the filters you want — for example, "open tasks, high priority, my campus."
Save the result as a favorite and give it a name.
Find it later under Favorites in the sidebar.

See Filters and favorites for the details.

Where tasks come from

Tasks can be created:

  • By hand on a project board, or from anywhere with quick create — press t to open a new task without leaving the page.
  • On a schedule, when you set a task to repeat. See Recurring tasks.
  • Automatically, by an automation — for example, when a sermon changes status. See Automations.
